  I upcycled with basic cardigan sweater. The sweater is a sort of heather grey color so it has flecks on taupe and black. I machine embroidered bird feathers and a birds nest with eggs on it. The feathers are around the bust of one side and the nest is toward the hem on the opposite side. The threads for the machine embroidery are in colors of chocolate brown, taupe, blue, and pale green on the leaves. The feathers I used by mistake a wash away stabilizer but luckily the density of the stitching won out. For the birds nest I used a cut away stabilizer that can be seen on the inside of the garment.
  
  Sweater is marked as a size Large. Bust measurement when flat is about 19". original manufacture of the sweater advised that a size large would be a bust measurement of between 38 and 40"
  
  Cardigan made from 60% cotton, 24% rayon, 8% nylon, 8% viscose
  
  Embroidery threads used are 100% polyester.
  
  Recommended cleaning: machine wash wool on gentle cycle and lay flat to dry. Embroidered areas be pressed with an iron on low of help lay flat.
